They say in football never go back, but we have to remember Wealdstone have always been a bit different.
Another week and another late goal to silence Wealdstone’s dreams of moving up the table last weekend but hopefully this weekend away at Boreham Wood things can change.
Saturday matches an ever improving Wealdstone side against a Maidenhead United team led by former QPR striker DJ Campbell.
From the despair of a week ago, the tables have now been turned for Wealdstone.
It has been a week of highs and lows with a trio of new signings before we were brought back to normality on Saturday, being denied an FA Cup win against Concord Rangers thanks to a 96th-minute equaliser and then beaten in 2-0 in the replay on Tuesday.
Over 100 fans made the trip down to Sussex on Tuesday night and after 10 attempts, Wealdstone now have one win on the league table.
People have said that the road ahead would be hard, but I don’t think any Wealdstone fan in their right mind would be sitting here after 8 games and thinking we would be without a win.
So far Wealdstone have had two games called this off this month – and we’re still sitting at the top of the table!
A long and important month is ahead of Wealdstone, a pivotal one that will play a big part in the club’s hopes of promotion out of the Ryman League Premier Division.
