The location benefits from being sandwiched between the luxuries of both Kilburn and West Hampstead and is the ideal location for eating out away from the hustle & crowds of the busy high road.

On approach, the first noticeable vision is the cute and cosy alfresco dining area which is charming and appealing for those days and nights when the weather is good, on entry the perfectly laid tables are pristine.

Ruchi’s owner Mr Ahmed has a long traditional history with NW6 as he and his business have been established for 25 years and whilst many have been and gone.

It still remains and retains its authentic history which was recognised by the Bangladesh Caterers Association UK that voted Ruchi the coveted and prestigious restaurant last year.

After being seated, we were introduced to the traditional poppadoms with an array of dips which consisted of mango chutney, chopped tomato & onions, onion & garlic tomato & chilli, which were all fresh and whet the appetite ever so slightly for the main.

My friend was keen to try the lamb rogan josh for main and so she ordered starters of lamb shish kebab and chicken tikka while I being the carnivore I am opted for the mixed grill which had a wonder full chargrilled flavour, succulent, tender and very, very tasty.

At this stage we were ready for more to continue the evenings eating and very much looking forward to the next course and we then presented with our main course

The presentation of our lamb rogan josh and chicken vindaloo was above excellent, the accompanying pilau rice, white rice, aloo gobi, sag aloo, peshwari nan and kemah nan was cute all in matching little traditional stainless steel dishes and heated plates which score very highly in my book.

I love chillies but it’s worth bearing in mind that as pleasant as they are, the level of spice can seriously determine the level of enjoyment

You could be forgiven for thinking you’re in a completely different place on the outskirts of London but this little hidden gem has the ambience, class and the service to rival any

This was all washed down with a bottle of water and a lassi (a thick creamy dreamy mango milkshake) and for those wanting an alcoholic drink, there is a full licensed bar with all the usual tipples available and the wine list is also quite extensive.

For dessert we enjoyed the lusciously creamy mango and coconut ice cream which was exactly that, lusciously creamy and came in other flavours.

All the staff were polite courteous friendly & professional in this restaurant and while we were there they were busy catering for a wedding party – demonstrating their capabilities of accommodating all dining requirements

Ruchi restaurant has worked hard on delivering a standard and quality of service and food that is second to none and if you like quality served with the personal touch and customary greeting from the owner; visit Ruchi for a dining experience that’s better than rest.
