Wealdstone manager Stuart Maynard is eager to pick up as many points as possible, despite it looking like no relegation from the National League this season due to the levels below being curtailed.

The Stones will travel away to fellow strugglers Weymouth on Saturday (3pm) as they look to keep picking up points and bounce back from a narrow 1-0 defeat to Notts County last weekend.

“We want to get as many points as we can to make sure that it’s in our own hands that we stay in the league,” Maynard said.

“It’s a big game at Weymouth on Saturday and we’re looking forward to it.”

Wealdstone have a clear week ahead of the fixture which is unusual with most weeks including a Saturday and Tuesday fixture this campaign.

“We can work with the lads properly and it will be nice to get a full week’s training and some of the things we’ve spoken about we can now try to address.”
