MOHAMUD Adaan led the way as Thames Valley Harriers clinched third place in the final match of the Metropolitan League season at Horsenden Hill.

Adaan finished 12th over an unusually firm course, clocking 30 minutes 54 seconds as TVH placed seven runners within the top 100 - enough to lift them to a creditable final league position of eighth.

Naz Dawit turned in another strong performance to finish 26th (31:45), with Andy Fooks next home in 38th (32:26), some way ahead of a cluster of his team-mates.

Manuel Da Silva was the fourth TVH finisher in 78th (34:33), followed by Ali Yahye (80th, 34:38), Matthieu Ribault (82nd, 34:43) and Matt Ponting (35:35).

Steve Norris was next in 104th place (35:50), followed by Phil Wetton (121st, 36:40), Bernie Robbins (139th, 37:51), JJ Quirke (146th, 38:08), Richard Bell (179th, 39:50), Simon Maddison (214th, 42:34) and Tony Smith (239th, 46:10).

In the women's race, lone TVH runner Lisa da Silva produced a solid run to finish 11th, but was some way off her best of the season.
