O’Donnell dominated his final against Davien Daniels, of Birmingham’s Eastside club, in Bridlington to claim a unanimous points win.

Using his skills and technique to pick his rival off in the first round, O’Donnell forced a standing eight count in the last as Daniels was forced to hold on.

However, below-par Patrice Mughalzai lost on unanimous points to Huey Malone (Christ The King, Coventry).

Mughalzai had beaten Malone in the 2016 final and coach Steve Newland said: “Patrice never boxed like we know he can but both boys have done the club proud. It was a great performance from Tidy to win his fourth national title.”

Meanwhile, Obi Ekbunike won on his professional debut at York Hall against experienced William Warburton, earning a 40-36 points victory.
