JAMES DeGale clinched his second successive first-round stoppage as he overwhelmed Ciaran Healy in Manchester on Saturday.

DeGale rocked Healy with a big left hook and then peppered him with a string of body shots before referee Phil Edwards halted the contest just seconds from the bell.

The Olympic middleweight champion from Harlesden has now won all three of his bouts since turning professional earlier this year.

Another ex-Dale Youth Club boxer, Steve O'Meara, was also a winner on Saturday, defeating Lee Noble on points at York Hall.
