Youngsters will now represent Brent at London Youth Games later this year

St Robert Southwell’s year five and six team will represent Brent in tennis at the London Youth Games after winning the borough’s qualifying competition.

Teams from schools from across Brent took part in the qualifying event at Capital City Academy earlier this month.

St Robert Southwell started strongly, comfortably progressing through each of the first four rounds of the qualifier for the London Youth Games.

After reaching the final, St Robert Southwell came up against St Joseph’s in what looked to be a evenly-matched fixture.

Despite the searing heat, St Robert Southwell came through to triumph over St Joseph’s, winning the final 3-1.

By winning this year’s event, St Robert Southwell’s year five and six tennis team successfully defended their Brent title.

The youngsters will now go forward to compete for Brent in the London Youth Games later this year, where they will come up against some of the best in the capital.
