Fraser Hutt’s solo try was the highlight as Kilburn Cosmos maintained their 100 per cent record in Herts/Middx Two with a comfortable 34-16 win over Chess Valley.

The scrum-half kicked from the back of a scrum from the 22 and followed the ball to score on the right midway through the second half.

Kilburn were already well ahead by then, with John Fenlon, Arjel Selfo, Pete Donaldson and Andy Hutt all touching down and George Brooke adding two conversions to put them 24-6 ahead at the interval.

Chess Valley hit back with their first try of the game 15 minutes into the second half, but Fraser Hutt’s score killed off the visitors’ hopes of a fightback.

Cosmos’ no 8 Ally Bursey added a sixth try, picking up from the base of an attacking scrum to force his way over before Chess Valley replied with a late consolation.
