It’s D-Day for UCSOB Rugby Club as they prepare for a make-or-break final league fixture of the season.

It was a day already pencilled into the calendars of those connected with the club as it marks the last game at their West Hampstead home before a £10m regeneration of the Eve Pavilion and grounds.

But now they head into it knowing that even a win may not be enough to save their Herts Middlesex One status.

They lie bottom, and in the only relegation position, one point behind rivals Wasps FC.

On paper though they have the easier of the two games, although the formbook should really be thrown out of the window as near neighbours Hendon provide the opposition.

Wasps have third-placed London French to contend with.

Bonus points could also play a huge part in deciding who stays up. Should Wasps leave French empty-handed, then a solitary point will keep UCSOB up by virtue of having won one more game.

Old Streetonians, who confirmed promotion last week in their final outing of the season, play in the Federation Vase final against Hillingdon Abbots.

But they will have one eye on Old Actonians where anything less than a Verulamians victory would give them the title.

Elsewhere Hampstead will be looking to break the club record for number of league wins in a season when they entertain Enfield Ignatians in London North West Two while Belsize Park’s trip to Hertfordshire could see hosts Welwyn relegated.

In London North West Three, champions Hackney will be looking to complete an ‘invincible’ season when they go to Kilburn Cosmos.

Hackney have won all 21 games so far this term.

And Finchley have their own relegation worries with a win desperately needed against Hemel Hampstead.

And in Herts Middlesex Two Haringey Rhinos finish off the campaign with a home match with already-promoted Bank of England.
