Queens Park Rangers striker Lyndon Dykes has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship player of the month for April.

Dykes netted six goals, including a flying header against Sheffield Wednesday, two assists and produced some delightfully skilful link-up play as Rangers purred going forward throughout April.

All of it belied the fact that this Dykes’ first season at Championship level.

The other nominees are as follows:

Arnaut Danjuma (Bournemouth) – striker
A second straight nomination for the flamboyant forward who either scored or assisted 10 of Bournemouth’s 18 goals in April. Movement, pace, balance, all were on show in his five goals, which included a superb strike at Norwich.

Harlee Dean (Birmingham City) – central defender
The beating heart of a side which went through April unbeaten and moved clear of relegation trouble. Solid in the tackle and robust in the air as just two goals were conceded in seven games, he also headed a late winner at Rotherham.

Darrell Dike (Barnsley) – striker
The young American achieved his aim of firing Barnsley into the play-offs, leading the line with gusto, making runs and displaying an uncanny knack for scoring crucial goals. His four in six games included the winner at Huddersfield.
