NFL’s UK Live Tour kicks off at Tottenham with Jarvis Landry and Victor Wanyama

Some of the NFL’s biggest names were in London today to kick off the NFL UK Live Tour.

The players, including Washington Redskins’ quarterback Kirk Cousins and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, were helping promote the tour which will visit London, Liverpool, Nottingham and Edinburgh throughout the week.
Landry, a big football fan himself, visited Tottenham’s training ground to check out their facilities and meet Spurs star Victor Wanyama before heading down to Nike Town on Oxford Street for an exclusive Q&A with 65 lucky fans.
Landry said: “It’s very exciting to be back here in the UK. I had a fantastic experience when we came over here to play in 2014 against the Raiders at Wembley Stadium and it’s great to see that that NFL has continued to grow in popularity in the UK since then.
“It’s always rewarding to meet fans, especially all the way out here in the UK, and I’m very much looking forward to sharing the stage with Kirk at the live fan forum this evening.

“I’ve had a great time in London and I can’t wait to be back playing at Wembley Stadium against the New Orleans Saints this October.”
Fans will join Cousins and Landry, as well as Sky Sports NFL presenter Neil Reynolds and renowned Sports Illustrated journalist Peter King, tonight at The Mermaid for an evening of live Q&A with insider information and game insights plus their chance to interact with other NFL fans.

This will be the first NFL UK Live tour where a decision has been made to charge a small £7 fee with all proceeds (except a £1 booking fee) going to the Youth Sport Trust to help grow American football in the UK.
Speaking on the partnership with Youth Sport Trust, Alistair Kirkwood, managing director of NFL UK, said: “We are very pleased to be able to contribute what will total well over £10,000 to Youth Sport Trust to help grow American football in the UK.
“Whilst we are focused on growing the NFL internationally we believe it is very important to be as involved as possible in the grass-roots sport of American football here in the UK through initiatives including NFL Flag and this is another terrific way to do so.”
Tickets for the two NFL games at Twickenham go on sale on April 27.
