Track Academy's Leroy Cain celebrates his latet success

Leroy Cain raced to 200m gold at the England under-23 Championships at Bedford.

The 22-year-old, a member of Track Academy by Connie Henry in Willesden, shaved 0.5 seconds off his best to win in 20.94.

And that was the fifth time he had lowered his mark in the championships, having set new bests in the 200m semi-final and heat, as well as the 100m semi-final and final, where he finished fifth in 10.44.

Track Academy founder Connie Henry said: “Leroy’s performance in the national championships is a magnificent achievement. He competed in six races across two days, and ran faster than he ever had before in five of them. It’s testament to his fantastic attitude and commitment to performing to the very best of his ability.”

Track Academy is a registered charity based at the Willesden Sports Centre in Donnington Road.
