KILBURN welterweight Ashley 'Hot Boy' Theophane will make his UK comeback next month against an as yet unnamed opponent at York Hall.

The 27-year-old has been attempting to break into the American boxing scene and has fought in his home city just once in the last 18 months, when he knocked out Rocky Muscus in the first round.

Theophane has again insisted he wants to fight European champion Colin Lynes, as well as David Barnes, who beat Ted Bami to win the British title in March.

"I'm in the top 10 in the British rankings and I want the big boys," said Theophane. "David Barnes and Colin Lynes are two I want to fight this year."

Theophane's career record stands at 20 wins and a draw from 24 bouts, with the most recent of his three defeats coming in controversial circumstances against Ali Oubaali in February.

The Kilburn fighter knocked down Oubaali, a former French champion, in the sixth round of their clash at Mohegan Sun Casino, Connecticut, but still missed out when the judges gave their verdict.

Theophane has won six of his previous seven appearances at the Bethnal Green venue and will be aiming to notch another victory there on Saturday June 14.
