Former Dale Youth ABC star George Groves is getting set for a career-defining clash with Germany’s two-time world title challenger and former European champion Eduard Gutknecht at the SSE Arena in Wembley this Friday.

The winner of this WBA International super middleweight title fight will secure a shot at the WBA World title in early 2017.

It is ‘make or break’ time for the big punching Groves and the Londoner simply must win if he is to achieve his lifelong goal of becoming champion of the world.

The chief support bout on November 18 features Wales’ undefeated British flyweight champ Andrew Selby against world-ranked Filipino Jake Bornea for the IBF Inter-Continental flyweight title.

Also on the big SSE Wembley Arena bill is Northern Ireland’s unbeaten Conrad Cummings, who boxes Germany’s Ronny Mittag for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental middleweight belt, while Reading’s undefeated Tamuka Mucha faces off against Belfast’s Paddy Gallagher in a British welterweight title final eliminator.

Local unbeaten welterweights Dan Dan Keenan, of Ladbroke Grove, and South Ruislip’s Dean Richardson also feature on the undercard against Edward French and Marcin Cybulski respectively.

Finally, Peckham’s English welterweight champ Johnny Garton against Nicaragua’s Geiboord Omier rounds off this big night of championship boxing in North London.
