Frank Nolan was Queen’s Park Harriers’ fastest finisher as he narrowly edged out team-mate Simon Brotherson in Saturday’s Chiltern League match at Watford.
Nolan completed the course in a time of 41 minutes 27 seconds – the second best performance in the over-55 age group and 46th overall, while Brotherson finished a further two places and eight seconds behind.
Andrew Galligan was next home for QPH in 66th place (43:20), while Richard Davis ran well to finish 75th (44:32) and a rare outing for Lennie Thomas earned him 79th place (44:58).
Gregory Conroy maintained his improving form in 85th position (45:55), with Andrew Angus returning from injury to clock a time of 50:01 in 101st place and Harold Lisk bringing up the rear in 110th (54:14).
QPH women’s captain Jacqui Young led by example to finish 19th with a time of 31:51, with debutant Claudia Senese following her across the line in 46th place (37:57).
Another debutant, Christina Ilonwah, recovered from a slow start to finish 23rd in the under-15 girls’ race (18:52) while, in the under-13s, Roisin Healy worked her way through the field to take 26th place (12:29).
And there were two excellent QPH performances in the under-11 race, where new arrivals Mya Williamson and Alaa Osman were both among the leaders before finishing in 10th (9:17) and 15th (10:27) respectively.
