HENDON will have to overturn another formidable home record after reaching the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in 11 years.

The Greens ended Met Police’s 100 per cent league record when they triumphed 2-0 in Wednesday’s fourth qualifying round at Imber Court.

But Gary McCann’s side now face an even sterner test in the first round when they travel to Conference South promotion-chasers Chelmsford City, who have won all five of their home league games so far.

In fact, the Clarets – who defeated Carshalton Athletic 3-2 in their own replay earlier in the week – have yet to even concede a goal at home in the league.

Belal Aite-Ouakrim opened the scoring for Hendon in their replay, racing onto a superb pass from Lubomir Guentchev to fire home in the 28th minute.

And Guentchev was instrumental in the Greens’ second goal before half-time, mesmerising the Met Police to set up Casey Maclaren.

Hendon’s first round tie will be played on Saturday November 6, kick-off 3pm.
