A FAST and furious contest was settled by a single goal as Kingsbury came from behind to defeat Brimsdown on Saturday.

An even opening 20 minutes produced few chances as both sides stood their ground, but the deadlock was broken 10 minutes before half time when Edson Cata's back-pass was pounced on by Rikki Burbidge, who squared for Dale Archer to roll the ball into the net.

However, Brimsdown's joy was shortlived. Five minutes later, Cata and Ariotmas Barinovas (pictured below) combined to set up Rehia Osagie, who squared for Renars Zarchenko to crash home the equaliser.

Brimsdown almost restored their lead in the 54th minute, but Axinte Valentin sprung to clear a shot from the top corner, and instead it was the Tigers who struck to turn the game on its head.

With 15 minutes left, Barinovas cut inside from the left and, after his first shot was blocked, he slammed the rebound left-footed past the keeper.

Both sides might have found the net late on, but Kingsbury's win was sealed when Brimsdown's Paul Campbell was dismissed for a second yellow card when he upended Cata.

Kingsbury London Tigers: Vatentin, Cariba, Morris, Salih, Lansiquot, Anvari, Barinovas, Ahmidi, Osagie, Cata, Zarchenko.
