WEALDSTONE survived a second-half Staines fightback to take three valuable Ryman League points with a 4-3 win in blizzard conditions at Grosvenor Vale on Tuesday.

Graeme Montgomery struck a 25-yard screamer on 15 minutes, and Gavin James netted a penalty rebound before James Gray added Wealdstone's third.

Ryan Ashe's free-kick made it 4-0 just after half-time, but the visitors replied through two Dave Sargeant penalties.

With 10 minutes remaining, Elliot Onochie struck a third Staines goal, but Stones survived a nervous finale to inflict only the visitors' second league defeat this season.

ROBIN Shroot lobbed a late equaliser for Harrow Borough as they snatched a 1-1 draw at Tooting & Mitcham.

Joe Vines gave the hosts the lead in first-half injury time after a goalmouth scramble and, although Shroot's delicate finish bagged a point for Borough, it was not enough to lift them off the bottom.
