A NEW-look London Irish side cruised past Gwalia courtesy of a Stephen Ruddy double and a debut goal from Sean Crossin.

Ruddy broke the deadlock after being sent through by debutant Trevor McCarthy.

Crossin added the second after chasing down a clearance, the ball hitting his leg and looping over the stranded keeper.

Gwalia fought back, and Darren Simms kept them at bay until the best move of the game ended with the ball in the back of the Irish net.

But with 10 minutes left, Ruddy ended hopes of a comeback when he slammed home from outside the box.
