QPR head to north west in Championship action against the Trotters on Saturday
Midfielder Josh Scowen believes Queens Park Rangers can finally get their first away win of the season when they visit Bolton Wanderers in the Championship on Saturday.
The Rs have played away from Loftus Road six times this term, but are yet to triumph despite taking the lead in four of those matches.
However, a quick glance at Bolton’s league form will give the west Londoners hope, with the Trotters, who are bottom, having just won once in the Championship this term, though that did come at home to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
That has not dampened Scowen’s confidence, however, and he believes that if QPR play like they have done in recent matches, they will be in a good position to triumph at the Macron Stadium.
“There have been a lot of positives in the recent games, but the one major frustration is that we’ve not taken our chances,” he told the club website.
“Of course it’s frustrating, because we feel we’re doing enough to get victories on the board on our travels, but for one reason or another, it’s not happening for us at the moment.
“We’re getting in the right positions and I’m sure if we keep doing that, we’ll get the rub of the green and the goals will come.”
Since moving to Loftus Road in the summer, Scowen has become a key figure in midfield for QPR.
The 24-year-old has linked well with Massimo Luongo and Luke Freeman in the heart of the pitch for Ian Holloway’s men.
And Scowen is pleased with how quickly the trio have gelled in terms of playing together, but knows there is still more to come.
“The understanding between the three of us in the middle of the pitch is growing by the game. The more we play together, the better we feel we’re getting,” he added.
“As long as we all stay fit and keep playing games, we’re confident we can go from strength-to-strength as a trio.”
