KYLE Walker has proved his Premier League credentials during his loan spell at QPR, according to fellow Rangers defender Clint Hill.
The Tottenham full-back, who is a regular in the England under-21 squad, has been a revelation at Loftus Road since he moved there on loan three months ago.
Walker has been an ever-present for the Rs, mainly occupying the right-back berth, but also featuring in midfield roles and in Hill’s preferred slot at left-back when required.
“When you look at Kyle’s performances for us, you feel he could definitely make the step up and I’m sure he’ll be a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League,” Hill told the Times.
“He’s an amazing talent and I could tell that the first time I played against him, when he was at Sheffield United and I was with Palace. He looked very strong and comfortable on the ball.
“The move has been good for him, giving him the platform to play games and show what he can do. He can go as far as he wants to and it’d be great if that happened to be with QPR.”
The 20-year-old was one of the few Rangers players to emerge with credit as they lost their unbeaten league record to Watford last weekend, when he finished the match in central midfield.
And Walker’s versatility will help to keep his team-mates on their toes, especially in the wake of their poor performance against the Hornets, with Hill admitting: “If you don’t stick to your ethics and do the job, there are plenty of other options.
“Kyle’s a real asset to the squad and the changing-room. But it’s not just him, we’ve got people like Bradley Orr and Fitz Hall on the bench as well.”
Walker’s current loan period runs out after Rangers’ home clash with Bristol City on January 3, but the club are hoping to extend the arrangement until the end of the season.
