Midfielder’s new contract to take him through to the summer of 2021

Luke Freeman has signed a new deal with Queens Park Rangers that will keep the midfielder with the Sky Bet Championship club until the summer of 2021.

The 26-year-old joined the west Londoners from Bristol City in January 2017 and had 18 months left to run on his previous deal.

After a strong start to the new term, and with interest from rival clubs in the midfielder growing, Freeman has been handed a new contract with Steve McClaren’s men.

Freeman told the club website: “I’m really pleased. I’m happy here – I get on really well with all the boys, all the staff.

“This feels like home for me. I love the club, the fans, and I want to help us progress even more now.

“The manager was massive in this decision and he is probably one of the best managers I’ve played under. The same goes for his staff.

“I think all the boys here would agree with that – and you can see it given the direction that we’re heading in.

“It was a tough start to the season, but kicking on like we have done made this decision even easier for me.”
