QPR are close to wrapping up the signing of Huddersfield defender Joel Lynch.
Lynch has been one of manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s main transfer targets all summer, with the Dutchman highlighting the 28-year-old as the perfect replacement for Clint Hill.
The Times understands Lynch made it clear to the Huddersfield hierarchy he wanted to make the move to west London, with the Terriers reluctantly accepting a deal worth up to £1.2million for his services.
Lynch is now discussing terms with the Rs, with a medical due to take place today, as Rangers look to make the former Nottingham Forest defender their second signing of the summer.
The news will come as a huge blow to Huddersfield fans, with whom Lynch has build up a great rapport with during his four-year spell at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Elsewhere, the Rs remain interested in signing Oud-Heverlee Leuven midfielder John Bostock, while they continue to keep close tabs on Brentford left back Jake Bidwell, who has rejected a new deal at Griffin Park.
