GREG Ngoyi continued his red-hot form with the winner as Wealdstone ended their pre-season with victory over Enfield on Monday night.

The striker took his tally to seven goals in 11 games, and is pushing for a starting place when Gordon Bartlett's side make the tough trip to Hastings United for Saturday's Ryman League season opener.

Bartlett has reshaped the Stones' squad through the summer, as he prepares to launch a promotion bid following a disappointing end to the last campaign when they missed out on the play-offs by just three points.

The manager has brought in experience in the form of prolific striker Scott Fitzgerald and ex-Grimsby Town defender Wes Parker, while young midfielder Kurtney Brooks has been added to the midfield.

And Wealdstone have looked in good shape during pre-season, earning another hard-fought win against neighbours Enfield.

Former Watford striker Fitzgerald twice came close to breaking the deadlock, before Bartlett introduced Ngoyi in the second half. And it was the 22-year-old substitute who found the winner, smashing the ball home after having his initial effort saved.
