Kinja FC were special guests at Wembley Stadium as the Football Association launched England’s bid to host the women’s European Championship finals in 2021.

Kinja under-15 Lightning, based at Ark Academy, a short distance from the national stadium, were invited to attend the launch and posed for photos as well as spending time with chief executive Martin Glenn.

Glenn, who saw England reach the semi-finals of the recent European finals, believes the key to developing women’s football is at grassroots level, saying: “Grassroots participation is growing, we think there will be more women playing football next year than netball, so it’s growing fast.

“Hosting the Euros in 2021 at Wembley and all the other great stadia around the country would really give the game another boost.”

Kinja offers sessions to girls of all ages and anyone interested in taking up the sport, can visit kinjafc.co.uk or email info@kinjafc.co.uk.
