KEANU Williams received an unexpected 12th birthday present last week - a schoolboy contract with Championship side Watford.

The Westminster youngster has been with Pro Touch Soccer Academy for the last nine months and caught the Hornets' eye after impressing against them in a friendly during the summer.

Williams then spent a six-week trial with Watford's Harefield Academy, where young hopefuls gain an academic education as well as developing their football skills.

He is the fourth youngster from Pro Touch - an academy that spans the boroughs of Westminster, Camden and Islington - to be signed by a Championship club this season, following Adam Forrester (QPR) and David Bangura and Elliott Isaac-Broreham (both Reading).

"PTSA and his family are very proud and hope he goes on to become a pro one day," said Pro Touch director Ash Rahman.
