Greens have signed three players over past week
Isthmian Premier league side Hendon have been busy this week, making three new signings.
One of the trio of new boys is Michael Corcoran, a defensive midfielder, who counts National League South sides Wealdstone and Chelmsford City among his former clubs.
And Greens boss Gary McCann is thrilled to have the former Cardiff City youngster on board.
“I’m really pleased to sign such an experienced player,” McCann told the club website.
“I’m looking forward to working with ‘Corcs’ and he will add more strength and nous to the squad.
“His minutes have only been held up by a quad niggle. The group is really starting to take shape.”
Corcoran seems as excited as McCann about his move to Silver Jubilee Park, telling the club website: “I am delighted to be signing for Hendon.
“I’ve had some off-the-pitch issues in the past, but these are well and truly behind me and I’m very grateful that Gary, the board and the club have put their faith in me.”
Corcoran, a former Northern Ireland under-21 captain, is not the only new face at Hendon, who also confirmed the signing of two full-backs over the weekend.
The Greens have brought in 18-year-old former Cockfosters and Ware left-back Cameron Currie, who has impressed while on trial.
On the other flank, ex-Molesey, Southall and Woking wing-back James Rogers-Oben has joined having also done well while on trial with Hendon.
The north London club’s two full-back signings were announced following the 2-0 friendly win at Southern League Premier side Dunstable Town on Saturday.
In the rain in Bedfordshire, the opening exchanges were controlled by the hosts, but it was the Greens who hit the front in the 18th minute.
Leo Pedro continued his good pre-season form in front of goal when finishing off a team move to put Hendon in front.
Shortly before half-time, McCann’s men doubled their lead when Keagan Cole produced a stunning shot to find the net.
Hendon visit Whitehawk for another friendly this Saturday.
