A brace from Jeniece Benjamin helped Ben Moore and Dean Harrington’s team to victory after extra time
Hendon under-13 girls secured a season treble after overcoming Watford Youth in the Capital Girls League Cup final on Saturday.
Ben Moore and Dean Harrington’s team needed extra time to see off their London rivals, but eventually got the job done.
Jeniece Benjamin put Hendon ahead early on and it seemed like the goal would be good enough to seal the win.
But Watford equalised during a long period of stoppage time, which occurred because of a bad leg injury suffered by Hendon’s Leyla O’Brien.
Despite Watford now having the momentum, Moore and Harrington’s girls showed their mettle.
Benjamin managed to add her second of the game before Nicole White found the net to put Hendon 3-1 up.
It was enough to give the girls another trophy to add to the Capital Girls League and the Capital Cup.
Hendon girls now turn their attention to the ACES Nationals in Nottingham next month where they will represent North London.
