QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says his side will not go into cruise control as the season reaches a conclusion, insisting the club need to get a “winning mentality” back.

Tjaronn Chery’s penalty – his sixth goal in nine games and 10th in total this season – secured a hard-earned point for Rangers after a 1-1 draw at Leeds United on Tuesday night.

They still seem to have little to play for, sitting 11th in the table and 15 points adrift off the play-off spots, but Hasselbaink says there will be no room for complacency in the remaining six games.

“That’s not us and that’s not me,” he said. “We want to turn up and perform in every match.

“We want to win and get that winning mentality back here. It’s only a pity we didn’t do that earlier in the season. I want us to fight until the bitter end.

“For us it’s very important we finish the season as strong as possible and get as many points as we can.

“We always put pressure on ourselves, whoever we are playing. You need to be able to live with that expectation and produce the goods.

“There are still a lot of boys playing for their future so it’s important they deliver and do their job.”
