Latest FA initiative to boost female numbers in game doing well in local area

A record 20 girls from the Brent area enjoyed the sunshine taking part in the weekly Brent Wildcat football session.

The sessions are held at the Capital City Academy from midday to 1pm and have been growing in popularity.

The Wildcat football sessions are part to a nationwide FA initiative to increase participation in girls’ football following the success of the women’s national team on the world stage.

The sessions cost £3 with no booking, or experience, necessary with the sessions run on a drop in basis.

The scheme is run in partnership with SSE as the FA bid to uncover the next female start through these sessions that are run the length and breadth of the country.
