Local stars honoured at event

The Brent Schools Football Association hosted their annual awards event at the Capital City Academy on Friday.

The association, which was founded over 50 years ago in 1966, was joined by special guests Claire Clottey from the Young Brent Foundation and John McDermott from Watford Ladies Academy.

Keith Gussy-Young was presented with an Outstanding Achievement award to for an incredible 37 years of volunteer coaching, before stepping down later this year.

Other highlights from the night included the victorious Brent under-13 team, who won the Middlesex Cup, and the Brent girls team, who have won eight trophies over the course of the past two seasons.

BSFA chair Chris Ampofo said: “It is important to recognize the players achievements. Brent is full of talented young people.
