THE College of North West London’s under-19 team clinched the title at the first attempt with a 6-2 thrashing of Ealing, Hammersmith and West London.
CNWL, who only joined the BCS Colleges South East Division at the start of the season, took the initiative early on with two counter-attacking goals from Donovan Prehay.
Harrow Borough forward Evandro Delgado made it 3-0 with an impressive solo effort, before Ealing pulled one back.
Ealing could have levelled the score before the break, but were denied by the post and bar in quick succession and CNWL began to reassert their dominance after the restart.
Alex Marcoci then grabbed two goals in five minutes to put the game beyond the reach of Ealing and all but clinch the league title.
Pablo Ribeiro added another late on to make it six; before Ealing’s late pressure was rewarded with a consolation goal.
The victory caps an impressive debut season for CNWL and manager Marc Andrews said: “We deserved to win the game with a brilliant team performance, but the hard work was done by our away victories at Kingston and at John Ruskin College.
“I was extremely proud of their attitude and desire to win the title after a setback at Westminster. These players have developed into a solid squad with some outstanding individuals, which the college should be proud of.”
