A host of Brent youngsters helped the Middlesex girls’ under-16 team cruise to a 5-0 success at home to Bedfordshire in the English Schools’ FA National Cup.

Midds dominated the match from the off, but wastefulness in front of goal meant they only led by a solitary goal at half-time.

The home team stepped their performance up a notch after the interval and eventually added four more goals to cap a strong team display.

Midds’ reward for beating Beds is a trip to Worcestershire in the next round of the national competition on December 8.

Team manager Ben Moore said: “The progression of this team together in such a short space of time has been phenomenal.

“The football on show on Saturday was nothing short of sublime and everyone involved is looking forward to picking it up where it left off in Worcestershire next month.”

Midds: Wolfin, Stewart, Clark, Van der Geest, Baranowski, Nolan, Kiely, Benjamin, Salpadoru, Ellis, Reeves, Finburgh, Nee-Chambers, White, Jackson.
