Brent under-11 boys’ football team produced a string of impressive displays to finish second in the Holden Cup.

The competition, which was organised by the Arsenal Academy and held at their state-of-the-art training ground, saw teams from across London compete.

Brent went unbeaten in the opening pool stage to finish at the top of their group and progress to the final, where they met Barnet.

Despite another decent showing from the youngsters, Barnet proved too sharp and were able to triumph.

Brent stopper Casper Lindner also received the goalkeeper of the tournament award for his displays between the sticks.

Brent coach Paul Woodford said: “The boys showed great resilience and progressed throughout the tournament.”

It certainly was a strong showing from the Brent youngsters and one they will hope will give them confidence to do well in their upcoming matches.
