The latest news from the Brent Schools’ FA

Brent under-11 boys were unfortunate not to progress beyond the group stages of the English Schools’ FA Premier League South Central Regional Tournament at Slough Town FC on Saturday.

The youngsters were placed in a group that also featured Gosport, Reading, Southampton and Newbury.

Dhyan Sharma netted the only goal for Brent in a win over Gosport, before also scoring in a 2-0 success over Reading, with Naeem Giscombe nabbing the other.

A wonder strike consigned the youngsters to defeat against Southampton, before Le’Kai Chevannes scored a penalty in a 1-1 draw against Newbury.

Those results saw Brent finish second in their group, but they were eliminated with only the group winners progressing.

Coach Paul Woodford said: “It was a magnificent performance from all and a great advert for Brent football.”

Brent: Barrett, Chevannes, Giscombe, Kelly, Lindner, Moore, Muslika, Prela, Selmani, Sharma, Pollendine, Zanuncio, Zebiri.
