Over 50 England hopefuls gathered from all over the south east of England to take part in the England girls U15 trials at the Capital City Academy in Willesden.

Former Brent star Rachel Yankey gave the trialists some words of encouragement.

She said: “It’s massive to have the trials in Brent. I grew up playing football in the parks nearby. It is important that talented local players are given this opportunity.”

Brent schools chairman Chris Ampofo said: “Special thanks to everyone that took part, especially John Read the ESFA Chief executive, for having the courage to stage the event here and giving Brent a chance.”
