Blues hit the roads to Ks on Saturday

Wingate & Finchley will hope to break into the Bostik Premier play-off places with a win at Kingstonian on Saturday.

Heading into the weekend, the Blues are only outside of the league’s top five on goal difference, but know three points could lift them into those coveted positions.

Keith Rowland’s men will also look to build on their wins in both the league and cup over the past week.

Last Saturday, Rob Laney scored twice as Wingate came from two goals down to beat Merstham 3-2, with Ben Pattie scoring the other.

On Tuesday, the Maurice Rebak Stadium club made it through to the Velocity Trophy third round with a 2-1 win at home to Potters Bar Town after goals from Antoine Akinola and Luke Ifil.

Saturday’s opponents Kingstonian, meanwhile, are still on the lookout for a new manager following the departure of Craig Edwards.
