JAMES DeGale will take on resilient Welshman Nathan King in his quest for a fourth straight knockout next month at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.

King has 12 wins and 14 defeats on his record, but has only been stopped twice, by ex-British champion Tony Quigley and top French fighter Jean-Paul Mendy.

"He's going to be dangerous because he's fought for titles before," said DeGale. "If I can do a number on him it is going to send out a big statement to the domestic division.

"This is the kind of fight I need right now in my career. I'm really buzzing in the gym at the moment and I want a challenge because I feel like I'm getting better every day."

The Harlesden super-middleweight faces 28-year-old King in a six-round clash on the undercard of Amir Khan's WBA world light-welterweight title defence against Dimitriy Salita on Saturday December 5.

Degale has won all four of his fights since turning professional a year ago, the most recent of them a third-round stoppage against Ally Morrison three weeks ago.
