Cricklewood Wanderers are back in this season’s Buildbase FA Vase due to an ineligible player being fielded in their defeat to Cray Valley PM FC.

Cray Valley has been disqualified from the Vase and the Wanderers were informed of its reinstatement to the competition this afternoon following a Football Association Sub-Committee meeting.

Cricklewood suffered a 3-1 defeat to Valley in the first round.

Cricklewood Chairperson Carmen Llorente said: “This isn’t the way we would have liked to have gone through, but the game was a close one and I understand the Cray Valley captain was the ineligible player, so in such a tight match it might have made the difference.

“We are just looking forward to the next round.”

Cricklewood will now play Uhlsport Hellenic Premier side Bracknell Town away in the second round on November, 11 as they bid to progress into the third round of the competition.
