Wembley earned a slender win over Acton in their Middlesex League Division Three contest.

Put into bat by the home side, Wembley saw opener Harold Jones hit a six and 12 fours in his 73 off just 78 balls.

But Vrushank Dalal (31 not out) was the only other visiting batsman to reach double figures as they were dismissed for 126 in 36 overs.

It proved to be just enough runs on the board, though, as Sneh Shah, Junayrd Azar and Vimar Arjan combined to good effect with the ball for Wembley.

Azar struck early, with Arjan claiming his first scalp with the total on 36.

But Acton seemed well placed at 56-2, before Shah opened his account and wickets began to tumble at regular intervals.

Shah (3-54) claimed two more wickets after Arjan got his second, before Azar (2-21) struck once again to make it 108-8.

And Arjan then dismissed the last two batsmen to finish with 5-39 as Wembley secured a tense nine-run triumph.
