ED Joyce will end his Middlesex career at next month's Champions League tournament in India after announcing his decision to join Sussex next season.

The 30-year-old left-hander, who captained Middlesex to Twenty20 Cup glory last summer, informed the county of his departure at the end of last week's Stanford Super Series in Antigua.

Chief executive Vinny Codrington said: "We agreed with Ed that he would be available for both Antigua and the Champions League whatever his decision as he was an integral part of our successful 2008 Twenty20 campaign.

"He leaves with our best wishes and hopefully can help bring home the Champions League title as a leaving present!"

Irish-born Joyce, who also played club cricket for Brondesbury, had been with Middlesex for a decade and, having qualified for England, represented them at last year's World Cup.
