Hampstead’s last-wicket pair held on to deny Shepherds Bush in their Middlesex League Premier Division meeting.

Bush captain Andrew Wilson chose to bat first and saw Jack Brydon (25) put on 52 with Ben Davies, who struck 11 fours in his 77.

Wilson hit 10 boundaries to reach 83 off 107 balls, with Marcus Howard (43) and Alex Blofield (33 off 17) lifting the total to 292-7 as Hugo Peterson (2-65) and Chris Beaumont-Dark (2-79) nabbed braces.

George Adair (27) put on 68 with Garth Davson at the start of Hampstead’s reply, but fell to William Speer.

And Davson hit a six and 10 fours in his 59 from 58 balls, while Sam Evison hit three maximums and two fours in his 34 off 44 balls.

Hampstead were 133-5, before Matthew Watson (23) and Jonathan Dunne (40) chipped in, but had to hold on as they slipped to 207-8.

Jack Biddulph (43 not out) and number 11 Peterson, who survived seven balls, saw Hampstead close on 255-9 as Blofield finished with 6-62.
