Jacksonville Jaguars won their second match of the season in thrilling fashion, scoring the go-ahead touchdown with a little more than two minutes remaining against Buffalo Bills at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The Bills more than played their part in a capitivating contest – not well-played but always entertaining – in front of a crowd of 84,021 at England’s national stadium.

In truth, the Jaguars should have been out of sight after scoring 27 points in the second quarter, although they did allow a late Buffalo score before the half.

The Jaguars fell behind to a Dean Carpenter field before scoring touchdowns on an 11-yard pass from Blake Bortles to Allen Robinson, a fumble recovery by Chris Clemons, an interception return by Telvin Smith and a 26-yard rush by TJ Yeldon.

EJ Manuel who fumbled and threw interceptions far too frequently, did throw a scoring pass to Robert Woods before Carpenter added a second field goal just before the half.

What might have been a key moment came at the start of the second half when Jacksonville marched to the Buffalo one-yard-line, but failed in four attempts to go that longest yard.

Instead, Buffalo then took hold of the ball and turned their long possession into a third Carpenter field goal. After a quick three-and-out from the Jaguars, the Bills struck quickly, Manuel throwing a 60-yard scoring pass to Marcus Easley. They went for a two-point conversion and LeShaun McCoy converted to make it a three-point game.

The next Jaguars possession ended on the second play, a long pass from Bortles which was perfectly read by Bills defensive back Corey Graham. He returned the interception 60 yards to give Buffalo their second lead of the game

Back came the Jaguars, aided by a controversial pass interference penalty against the Bills and, on the game-winning throw, a Buffalo defensive lineman seemed to be held as he tried to get to Bortles.

Without that pressure, Bortles lofted a long pass to Allen Hurns, who caught the ball at full stretch and landed on the goal-line for the winning touchdown.
