Alison Brown was the first woman to finish Gladstone parkrun on Saturday as she recorded a personal best on the 5km Dollis Hill course.

The Brent runner stopped the clock at 20 minutes 48 seconds to finish ahead of Queen’s Park Harriers duo Lucy Fowell (23:12) and Susan Kennedy (24:05).

She said: “Gladstone parkrun is a no-fuss, fun way to add a bit of variety to your usual running routine and a great way to start each weekend.

“I enjoy running outside, in the company of so many people, and it is motivating chasing a better result week on week. I run harder when there is someone just in front to chase, or just behind me chasing me down.”

Jeanette Mueller claimed fourth place in 24:41, followed by Katie Levy (24:50) and Gill Morgan (25:43). Liberty Sanders was the fastest junior girl in a personal best of 29:09.

Ryan Yoruk (18:16) held off a fast finish from Michael Dmitrzak (18:23) to lead the field of 64 runners overall.

Brendan Greene claimed third place in 19:10, ahead of junior runners Kerr Millar (19:37), Michael Feeney (19:47) and Alexander Khlaf (20:04).

Gladstone parkrun takes place at 9am every Saturday and is open to people of all ages and abilities. Registration is free at or you can email for more information.
