Brent Under-12s secured their first victory of the season with a superb display against Barnet at the weekend, running out eventual 5-1 winners.

The hosts took the lead early on as captain James Wall scored with a brave header.

Man of the match Jermaine Russell, who caused Barnet all sorts of problems, bagged himself a brace with two composed finishes beforing assisting Wall to also grab his second of the game.

Barnet netted a consolation through the penalty spot but Theo Alexandrou responded by scoring an outrageous chip from the right wing to make it 5 – 1 and cap a day to remember for the Under-12s.

Elsewhere, Brent Under-12 girls produced an excellent performance to record a shock 3-1 win over a strong Charlton Whites side.

All of Brent’s goals came within a dazzling first-half display inspired by player of the match Tyanna Tulloch. After good work from Emma Wright, it was Tulloch who set Brent on their way by netting after just 10 minutes.

Tulloch turned provider soon afterwards as her headed flick found Jada Pollendine unmarked to place the ball into the back of the net.

Brent’s blistering first-half performance was capped by Noelani Agyeman, who showed incredible pace and power to beat her marker before firing a fierce strike into the top right-hand corner.

Brent showed great maturity in the second half to hold firm and, with only three minutes to go, a defensive error allowed Charlton to score, but it was nothing more than a consolation goal.

Brent Under- 15 boys managed to nullify a high-flying Barnet side in a game which ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

Claremont goalkeeper Yashil Kamdar enjoyed an outstanding debut to help the side gain a valuable point.

Brent had chances to win the game, with Wiktor Wachala and Cai Burrows going close, while Barnet hit the bar twice and Kamdar made a string of superb saves.
