Brent ace nets stunning goal as Middlesex secure impressive away victory

A Middlesex side made up of seven Brent players fought back from a goal down to record a remarkable 3-1 away victory over an unbeaten Surrey team in the SE England Cup.
In freezing cold conditions, Middlesex found themselves a goal down after 20 minutes but recovered to go into the break level.
Combative striker Ali Alanezi threaded the ball through to Cai Burrows, who produced a moment of magic, skilfully dribbling past two defenders before displaying a cool head to dink the ball over the helpless Surrey keeper.
Middlesex capitalised on the shift in momentum their equaliser gave them and started the second half with a high tempo as captain Jaevon Braithwaite and Charlie Quinnell particularly impressed.
Middlesex were rewarded for their efforts when Harrow winger Toby Gould reacted quickest to a mistake from the Surrey keeper to put his side 2-1 up.

Middlesex keeper Joe Ringer played his part by denying Surrey an equaliser with a great save at point-blank range.
Wiktor Wachala was then brought on and the Ark Academy youngster made an immediate impact by beating a defender and delivering a superb ball for man of the match Ali to fire a superb volley home and wrap up the win for Middlesex.

Speaking to the Times, Middlesex coach Chris Ampofo proudly said: “The effort, work ethic and spirit in this team is fantastic. Everyone contributed and they got the reward they deserved. It was an immense effort.”

Elsewhere, Brent Under-12 girls put in a fantastic performance in the Capital Girls London Futsal competition held at the Copper Box Arena, coming second in the so-called ‘group of death’.
Brent started the tournament in excellent fashion by thrashing Limehouse 4 – 0.
A goalless draw with Enfield followed before the girls got back to winning ways against St Joseph’s with a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Tulloch and Jada Pollendine.
The final game saw Watford beat Brent 2-0 – taking them into the last four of the competition, where they eventually finished runners-up.
