Former Ladbroke Grove-based Dale Youth amateur Daniel Dubois is confident he can inflict a second defeat on fellow British rival Fabio Wardley on October 17 at The 02, North Greenwich.
Back in May at Manchester's Co-op Live, the 29-year-old became the new holder of the WBO world heavyweight title after defeating former champion Wardley, 31, from Ipswich in eleven rounds.
In a recent head-to-head interview with Sky Sports, Dubois, who has won 23 of his 26 professional outings and is promoted by Islington-born Frank Warren, reflected on that successful night in Manchester that saw him become a two-time world champion in boxing's glamorous weight division.
"It was great night and a great victory," Dubois told Sky Sports.
"I'm going to do it again so I can't wait, I'm bringing in the storm! That victory was right up there with the Anthony Joshua one."
And Dubois, whose younger sister Caroline Dubois, who recently remained her WBC and WBO world women's lightweight title after outpointing American Amelia Moore at Solihull's BP Pulse Arena last week, knew Wardley, who is 20-1-1 and also promoted by Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions, wanted a rematch.
"He's got no where to go really," Dubois continues.
"It's the world title so I was prepared for that.
"In the first fight I prepared to face a crowd pleasing fighter and have a toe-to-toe scrap.
"I really loved it and I can't wait to do it for the second time on October 17.
"We're not friends, I take this seriously.
"I've been doing this my whole career and my whole life and when you're going to fight someone you're not friends with them.
"It's a code for fighters and warriors like that. It's a code for me.
"I'm the champion and I don't need to shake his hands.
"I'm going to defend my belt."
