Herts/Middlesex Merit Four North East Plate: Letchworth thirds 19 Hendon seconds 29
Hendon seconds are through to the final of the Herts/Middlesex Merit Four North East plate competition following a 29-19 success at Letchworth thirds.
The Greenlands Lane outfit held out strong forward opposition for 20 minutes, before wing Brian Murtagh scored in the corner.
Next on the scorecard was veteran JP Cremin following a brilliant midfield break to outpace his opposite number.
Cremin soon had his second after being set up by skipper Aidan Power with the extras added, but Letchworth grabbed the final score of the half to make it 22-5 at the break.
Michael Danso crossed early in the second half for Hendon, before Letchworth added their second try of the match.
Danso then added his second of the half to make it 29-12 to the Greenlands Lane club, but the final score of the match went the way of Letchworth.
It proved inconsequential, though, as Hendon advanced to the final.
