Police have been given special powers to deal with misbehaving football fans at next week’s England V Scotland match at Wembley Stadium.

Officers will be allowed to disperse groups of more than two people displaying yobbish behaviour following a string of complaints from fed up residents and traders about event days at the venue.

Complaints include fans urinating in public, intimidating local traders and being aggressive to passersby.

Under the measures anyone refusing to move on faces arrest and can be jailed for up to three months and fined a maximum of £2,500.

The day-long dispersal zone for the Tokyngton ward will be in force on August 14.

Sergeant Pete Goodchild from Tokyngton Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “It is our aim, that every resident, business or visitor in Wembley enjoys the right to live and work in peace without being harassed, alarmed or distressed.

“We will continue to work to identify those responsible and deal with them robustly.”
