A Wembley man who has raised thousands of pounds for a blood charity by taking part in a series of sponsored challenges has been given an award.

Anil Pindoria has shown his support for Bloodwise by taking part in The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, cycling up Mount Everest, and most recently cycling from Paris to London, and back to Paris.

The 31-year-old has raised more than £70,000 since 2011.

Mr Pindoria works as an assistant supply chain manager in the Watford branch of DIY store Wickes which has been raising money for Bloodwise as part of a special partnership.

He was presented with the “Corporate Award” at a special ceremony hosted by Bloodwise.

He said: “I felt overwhelmed receiving the award as it brought back all the memories from the last four years and all the amazing people I’ve met whilst fundraising for Bloodwise.

“I never realised how much money the small events over the years add up to. I’m just glad the money is making a real difference.

“I would like to thank the staff at Bloodwise for inspiring me to start and for helping me show the world that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things.”

Rowan Elizabeth Parkes, corporate partnerships manager at Bloodwise, added: “Anil has become known within Bloodwise and Wickes as the man who will try anything, and will do it with a big smile on his face.

“We are delighted to present this award to Anil. What he has achieved over the past four years is remarkable, and he thoroughly deserves recognition for the support he has shown in helping us to beat blood cancer.”
